Cyanocobalamin

Pick your strength first. Within each strength the packages are listed cheapest first, priced per 1,000 mcg so different bottles compare fairly. Strengths are never compared against each other. Where one strength is sold in two formats, each is ranked on its own.

Not in this comparison: Nature Made Vitamin B12 500 mcg (100 tablets), whose panel also prints calcium 80 mg; Nature Made Vitamin B12 500 mcg (200 tablets), whose panel also prints calcium 80 mg; Nature Made Vitamin B12 Extra Strength 2500 mcg (60 tablets), whose panel also prints calcium 127 mg. The comparison takes only packages whose panel prints no calcium beside vitamin B12 (decided October 2, 2026), so these are not ranked here. Each page has its price and certification records.

Common questions

Methylcobalamin vs cyanocobalamin: what is the price difference?
What each form of vitamin B12 costs per 1,000 mcg at the same labeled strength, with what the Supplement Facts panels say. Absorption is not compared.
Which vitamin B12 brands are third-party tested?
Every vitamin B12 we track, grouped by what a certifier's listing says about the exact bottle sold, including where we found none. Absence is not a verdict.
What is the cheapest vitamin B12?
The cheapest vitamin B12 at each labeled strength, both forms, priced per 1,000 mcg from its own label, with whether that bottle is third-party tested.
Do third-party tested supplements cost more?
Per category, the cheapest product we track beside the cheapest a certifier names at the exact package, if any, within one format and, where it matters, one strength.
Is BulkSupplements third party tested?
Every BulkSupplements product we track, by whether a certifier names the exact package sold, only another size, or nothing we found. With listing IDs.
Which supplements are NSF Certified for Sport?
Every package we price that NSF names in its Certified for Sport database, by category, with the listing IDs and what each listing actually covers.
Do supplement prices actually change?
We keep every price reading we take: daily where a store can be read automatically, less often where it is read by hand. Which prices have moved since we started, which have not, and by how much.
How many capsules is one serving?
How many pills the label calls one serving, across every capsule, tablet and softgel we have a price for, and what that does to the count on the front of the bottle.
Is Nature Made third party tested?
Every Nature Made product we price, checked against USP’s Verified Products directory, NSF’s Certified for Sport database and its own label, product by product.
Is Nature Made vitamin B12 USP Verified?
Nature Made vitamin B12, every strength and count we price, checked against USP’s Verified directory and the USP Verified Mark on each label.
Is Thorne vitamin B12 NSF certified?
Thorne Vitamin B12 checked against NSF Certified for Sport bottle by bottle: which counts the listing names, with the listing ID.

About these numbers

What “per dose” means here: 1,000mcg vitamin B12

The adult RDA is 2.4 to 2.8 mcg (NIH ODS), and single-ingredient B12 supplements carry doses hundreds of times that, from a few hundred micrograms to several thousand per serving; the sheet notes that such supplements typically carry the highest doses and that no tolerable upper intake level has been set. 1,000 mcg is a strength printed on many single-ingredient labels and a round figure inside the range sold, chosen so products of different strengths can be priced against each other. It is a yardstick for comparing prices, not a recommended intake, and it cannot change which product is cheapest within a strength: it scales every row by the same number. Because strengths differ by tenfold and more, products are compared within labeled strength bands, the way vitamin D3 is, and never across them. Adopted on September 20, 2026, when the category was built, and the strength bands were signed off by Dan the same night.

Compared in micrograms as printed. The form (methylcobalamin, cyanocobalamin) is a spec, never a ranking input.

Where the data comes from
Every claim links to its source. Products, prices and certification listings are read from the retailers' own stores and the certifiers' own databases, and each figure links to the record it came from, so you can check any of them.
  • Where a servings-per-container figure was not read from the package's own panel, the product page says how it was worked out.
  • Amazon and Walmart are not included, so “cheapest” means cheapest among the retailers we track.
  • Prices go stale. Each one shows when it was last checked, and says so when it is older than the retailer allows us to cache it.
  • iHerb prices cannot be refreshed automatically. iHerb has not given us access to its price data, so those prices are marked stale until they are re-read. Each retailer offer carries its own check date.

How we make money

No Buy button on this page earns us anything. The only links on the site that can are the Amazon links shown below the price comparison on some product pages, outside the comparison, and each says so beside it.

Commission will play no part in what we list, how it ranks, or which link we send you to. The Buy button points at the lowest price we have recorded even when that retailer pays us nothing.
