At a 5 g serving, a 300 g tub holds 60, a 450 g tub holds 90 and a 500 g tub holds 100 servings. 23 of the 24 creatine powders whose serving we have from the label or the seller give 5 g, and we count 24 more at 5 g because we have not read their panel, so a tub's count is its weight in grams divided by five.
Capsule bottles are counted at the label's own serving, which is 2 capsules for 2.5 g, 2 capsules for 1 g, 4 capsules for 3 g, 4 capsules for 5 g and 7 capsules for 5 g on the 14 capsule products we track.
Where each count comes from: 38 printed on the label, 13 from the seller's own product page, and 24 worked out by us from the package weight and the serving size, where we had no reading of a printed count. The table marks which is which.
Servings are counted at the serving the label or the seller's product page states, or, where the table says Worked out, at 5 g from the package weight, because we have read a count on neither. That is a way to compare packages, not a recommendation about how much to take. What each tub costs per 5 g: How much does creatine cost per serving?
Where to buy: the creatine monohydrate shortlist
The pick is the cheapest certified product, at the exact package sold where the certifier names packages, with no adverse finding on record, a price its retailer let us read recently, and no more than a year’s supply at the label’s serving; per delivered dose where the retailer publishes a delivery rate. Where none does, it is the cheapest such product before delivery, and it says how far the order is from free delivery. It is the same pick the category page shows. Any answer shown beside it is the cheapest under a different rule and says so on its own line; answers that cost more than the pick fold under one line until you ask for them.

Our pick, delivery included · Cheapest independently tested, delivery known
Corrected Oct 2, 2026: until then the pick here was Sports Research Creatine Monohydrate, Unflavored (1 kg). Our record of Optimum Nutrition's own store left out the flat delivery rate its delivery page publishes below its free-delivery threshold, so delivery there counted as unknown and none of its packages could be the pick. With the rate recorded, its delivered cost is known.
Among 52 products and 65 retailer listings we track; Amazon and Walmart are not included. A month is thirty doses of the size in the heading, priced the same way as the per-dose figure beside it. “Delivery known” ranks only products whose retailer publishes a delivery rate; a cheaper product with an unpublished rate is on its own line, or in the full list below.

No pick yet. These came closest
A pick has to be independently certified, at the exact package sold where the certifier names packages, with no recall or failed test, a price its retailer let us read recently, and no more than a year’s supply at the label’s serving. Where the retailer publishes no delivery rate, the pick is priced before delivery and says so. Nothing we track here clears all of those yet. Each of these misses at least one bar, and says which (the first clears the certification bar):
Among 9 products and 9 retailer listings we track; Amazon and Walmart are not included. A month is thirty doses of the size in the heading, priced the same way as the per-dose figure beside it. “Delivery known” ranks only products whose retailer publishes a delivery rate; a cheaper product with an unpublished rate is on its own line, or in the full list below. No product here that clears every other bar publishes a delivery rate below its free-delivery threshold, so the pick is priced before delivery.
What this rests on: prices we last recorded at the retailer named on each product page, which go stale, and each page says when it was checked; the products we track, not every product sold, and Amazon and Walmart are not among the stores; listings and labels read at the source, each linked from the page.
